A Gift for Macy
I made a deal with a young girl named Macy that if she could consistently stay and sleep the entire night through in her own bedroom (and not go down and sleep near her parent's room) that I'd draw/paint her very own Amy S. Petrik painting. She had to sleep three consecutive nights in a row. It has finally happened and this is what she wanted me to create. A turtle wearing glasses and reading a book.

The plates are very small ... perfect to put in a little stand to hold them up and to give to a friend or coworker as a nice little gift. And the mugs... you have to see them in person as they have stuff all over them.

Commissioned to do this for a 2-year old boy named Hoyt Brandt in Avon, SD. His dad is a fireman.
The size is 8"x10" and I put it in a nice black frame. This was drawn using a Sharpie fine tip marker and painted with bright watercolor paints.

Both of these girlies are 3"x5" on watercolor paper and framed in cute little 4"x6" wooden frames. I will admit I take not so clear photos of my original creations so that no one out in the world of the internet will attempt to "steal" my precious art work and call it as their own. Apollonia had asked me to design her wedding program cover. I took a photo of what both will be wearing on their wedding day and drew around that. Also the background is taken off of her actual wedding invite which is located at the top right corner of the photo -- including the teal and gray colors.
